HEV-1000은ATSC의표준규격을만족시키는디지털잔류측파대(Vestigial Side-Band) 변조기입니다. 이제품은19.392658Mbps의전송신호(Transport Stream)를받으며, 이를다시0 dBm에서-15 dBm의출력레벨을갖는8VSB RF신호로변조하여VHF/UHF로원하는채널형태로출력할수있습니다. 전송신호(Transport Stream)를디지털전송방식인8VSB 형태로변환하여비디오,오디오및데이터정보를전송합니다. HEV-1000은Randomization, Reed-Solomon, Convolutionalinterleaving, 격자코딩및Pilot –Insertion을통해에러정정후디지털변조를실행합니다. 이러한프로세싱으로디지털텔레비전의잠재력을최대한활용할수있는수준의신뢰성과성능을갖게하는장비입니다.
